Spring Cleaning

We got some carpet stain remover and Greg spent about 45 minutes getting all the little spots out of the carpet in his room.. Then he loaded up our carpet cleaning machine and shampooed the carpet! It was a lot of work, but the results were excellent.

Here is the view out the window in Greg's room.

This is one of my favorite pictures. After all that work, Greg and Buttercup had a nice long nap together in their temporary bedroom.

Greg's New Bed In A Box

Greg and I spent a couple of weekends shopping for a new queen size bed for his room. He has been sleeping on that metal bunk bed arrangement above and you can see it is not nearly long enough for him. Finally, his new bed was delivered and we asked them to leave it in the dining room because we wanted to set it up ourselves. The delivery people were not gone more than 60 seconds before the local inspectors showed up to check it out!

With a lot of help from the afore mentioned inspectors, we got everything unpacked and the oak headboard assembled. A quick trip to the nearby home improvement store for some carriage bolts to fasten the headboard to the frame and we were almost done. Another few minutes to move his personal refrigerator, entertainment center, stereo and telephone back into his bedroom and here is what the results look like.

Greg seems pleased with the results. Almost good enough for Good Housekeeping. The new sheets, pillows and cover are all compliments of Gladys and Gail.

One more picture and quick story. About an hour after we had finished putting Greg's room together, I was walking by the door and saw some motion in the mirror that sits in the center of the headboard. I looked closer and saw that Buttercup had decided that this new bed was just perfect for her. She had gone in head first between the pillows, turned around under the cover and had only her nose sticking out. If you look very close just beyond the telephone cord, you can see that Buttercup was the first one into the new bed!

Buttercup approves.
